Basic Dough – Prepare and keep ready
1.Payatham Paruppu Poornam
Cooked Green gram dhal – 1/2 cup
Grated fresh coconut – 1/4 cup
Salt, Turmeric powder, Green chilli paste, Oil, Mustard seeds, Asafoetida, Cut coriander leaves, Lemon – As required
Sweet Modhakam
Basic Dough – Prepare and keep ready
2. Ellu & Kollu Poornam :
Roasted Seasame seeds – 1/4 cup
Roasted Horse gram – 1/4 cup
Grated Jaggery – 1/2 cup
3. Casewnuts Poornam :
Cashewnuts – 1/4 cup
Sugar – 2 Tbl spns (Powder both together coarsely)
Outside dough shape u done in hand beautifully mam

Mam! If u want to cook the payatham paruppu directly in the cooker, what should be the water ratio as well how many whistles should be allowed to blow out?
If it is put directly with more water on top – one whistle is enough. Strain water and use it for rasam or kulambu. If kept in separate vessel it might take 2 whistles. Generally we don’t pressure cook this. It cooks fast directly also.
So beautifully explained method you have shown to make the kozhukattai cups. Please suggest a way to use leftover ulundu pooranam.

Prepare Kalavai sadam with that pooranam. It can be used for mixing sevai also.

May be not cooked properly. Which rice you use? I use Ponni super premium rice. Till now no failure.Soak for 2 hours minimum.

Idli steamer is easily available everywhere. I bought it in premier show room – G N Chetty road . It is in Rathna stores also.No brand name in that lid.
